 Save our park

Save our park

24/09/2008 9:21:00 AM
BY now you may be aware of the proposal for the outline development plan for Lot 752 Tingle Avenue.

Twenty-one, two storey, single bedroom dwellings with a unit area of 60m2, to be placed in the middle of our public open space.

It’s an appalling step backwards for the wetland park ecosystem presently there.

You only need to open your eyes and see our wetlands being consumed by greedy development sites, beside its being an eyesore for us all.

The council should put the environment and the community first and declare this beautiful ecosystem public open space.

We need your support as a whole community to oppose this inappropriate development, and object to the deviation plan from community use zoning R20, to residential R40 zone.

A simple objection letter to the shire by the 30th of September will help save our park’s beautiful wetland ecosystem, by outlining your concerns from safety issues for our children and pets with increased traffic flow, ecosystem, property devaluation, insufficient parking allocation for visitors–the list goes on.

Send your letters to the Shire of Augusta- Margaret River, Planning Application P28372, Planning and Development Services, PO Box 61, Margaret River WA.

Alternatively I have a simple form you can print, sign and post.

Email a request for the objection form to gardenmakeovers@bigpond.com.au

Help, support and save our park land.
