I THINK it’s great that the Prevelly Caravan Park accepts school leavers.
It is the perfect venue.
The park supplies identification wrist bands for all the paying guests, have the park fenced in, and have full time security guards.
The bathrooms get trashed, but they have cleaners to come in daily.
And basically, there isn’t much that can be damaged in the park.
Really, this is the students’ week to party and let off a bit of steam.
And that they do! (I know, I am a long term resident of Prevelly))
But to encourage other accommodation owners who have upmarket accommodation to allow leavers is really naive.
How can you monitor on a 24 hour basis who comes and goes, or how many people end up sleeping there, or hang out, or use the bathroom/shower facilities?
Or annoy the neighbours with their noise level?
And sometimes, is the dollar worth all the hassle which very well may occur, in the end?
From experience I say this.
Editors note: Legally, accommodation providers can’t refuse leavers as guests as this is discriminatory against age.
