Perth also won three games for the Carnival, but had only slightly better percentage for the courageous Jester’s Flat Team.
Two teams represented Jesters Flat at the 40th Twin Pines Carnival and the long haul up the hill to Northam, did not drain their competitive spirit, nor their energy for the four games played over the weekend.

Sunday’s first game was another early one, but this time riders were greeted with wet, cold and windy weather.
As riders took to the field for the first chukka the heavens opened up.
A tough but friendly game in which some great skills were once again exposed and plenty of experience was gained from playing another quality team.
Final scores Jesters Flat 6, Kojonup 10.
Programmed for only one game on Sunday, the D Grade proceeded to pack up for the long return journey to Margaret River when word was delivered that they had to play one more game, creating quite a scatter in camp.
This time they faced Twin Pines No 1 Team.
The team lined up slightly differently as neither team had finals chances.
Jesters Flat was represented by Scott Maguire, Asha Maguire, Kim Maguire, Lucy Brennan, Megan Booth and Tash Gully.
Right from the first line up, Jesters Flat dominated the ball taking a handy lead quickly.
Some great teamwork in the Maguire chukka set the scene for the game.

The next game for the gallant Jesters Team was a scratch match against South Midlands, which consisted of higher grade players riding green horses to make up a team.
Jesters Flat put up a great battle as they rose to the occasion.
Although beaten they were not deterred as they saw many positives in the game.
No sleep-ins for the E Grade on Sunday morning as they faced the South Midlands E Grade Team in the wet, cold and windy conditions as a torrid weather front hit the playing fields.
In the closing stages of the game South Midlands scored to defeat Jester’s Flat by one goal.
Scores were Jesters Flat 5, South Midlands 6.
The final game for the E Grade was against Perth, they had to win this game well to win the Carnival.
Final scores were Jester’s Flat 8, Perth 5, but unfortunately only a few per cent prevented Jesters Flat from wining the Carnival.
Once again battered and bruised but high in spirits Jesters Flat will have a few weeks off before their next Carnival.
With the National Polocrosse Championships being held at Brigadoon mid October, in which Jesters Flat coach Paul Brennan will coach the WA State Open Men’s Team, their next Carnival will not be until the end of October at Kojonup.
