Youth Advisory Committee learns all things events

25/06/2008 11:43:00 AM
WA music industry promoters spoke at a youth event management workshop last Friday and Saturday.

The workshops aimed to enhance young people’s skills in events planning, management, marketing and promotion and to help them stage successful events in the community.

The Augusta-Margaret River and Busselton-Dunsborough Youth Advisory Committees hosted the event and guest speakers Paul Sloan and Karen Lee made a presentation.

Augusta-Margaret River Shire Community Development Project officer and Youth Bursary Moana Lutton said the Workshop was very successful and well attended and participants learnt a lot.

“Both YACs gained a lot from the workshop in relation to the all age events we organise,” she said.

“The experience of the presenters gave us insights into improving the gigs we run, plus we all had a great time hearing their stories.”
