THE Margaret River Lions will put 13 number plates under the hammer at the Margaret River and Districts Agricultural Show.
The plates feature the letters MR and the numbers available are 01, 05, 09 and 351 through to 360.
With the number plates in high demand Margaret River Lions Club president Bob Castle expects all to sell.
“When people travel to Perth, MR plates identify you as coming from the Margaret River region,” he said.
“People are proud to be from Margaret River.”
Mr Castle expects the 01MR plate will attract the highest bids and hopes for a price over $1000.
The auction will be held in front of the football clubhouse at 2.45pm on Saturday, October 18.
Plates must be paid for on the day with cash, cheque or credit cards accepted.
Proceeds from the auction will go towards the new Lions shed.
