Brave fundraisers for breast cancer research

3/09/2008 9:11:00 AM
AFTER being recently diagnosed with breast cancer, local Pamela McIntosh is joining friends to shave her head to raise funds for research into both breast cancer and leukaemia.

Ms McIntosh was diagnosed on July 8, and after going through treatments, and realising how many local women are going through cancer, decided to invite everyone who has been touched by cancer–family, friends or partners–to come along and support this cause.

D’Vine at Margaret River Hotel will host the fundraiser for research from 9.30am on Sunday, September 28.

Ms McIntosh and friends including Deb Shipton are shaving their hair on the day and anyone else who would like to do the same and get sponsorship to support them would be most welcome.

Ms McIntosh is eager for local businesses to give their support, all donations being tax deductible.

The champagne brunch costs $25 a head, and there will be a raffle and door prizes.
